Looking for recommendations for what you have used for black spline drive lug nuts. I need a set for my RTR wheels (stock lugs won't fit) and RTR won't have any available for several weeks so looking for an alternative.

Thanks

I like the gorilla spline drive nuts, I had the chrome on a previous daily driver that seen 10+ years of salt water spray on our michigan roads with no signs of corrosion.

The RTR wheels will look really sweet, 9" wide and a positive offset.

Thanks, I know its 14mm x 1.5, but curious if you know the right length to get? They have a 2" and a 1.4"

Our OEM lug nuts are 1.5" in length. I'm only seeing the 2" length in the spline drive that is 14 x 1.5mm. Wondering if these Factory style will fit that is a 7/8" socket vs the OEM 13/16". I like the factory style as the seating against the wheel is larger diameter same as with the OEM.

Thoughts on which to go with: gorilla or rtr. Thinking about this from a durability / strength stand point.

Gorilla splines look deeper, and are obviously taller in height.

I personally like the shorter RTR. The seating area looks identical. Is there a manufacture listed for the RTR?

no manufacturer listed, and my concern is ive seen many no name brand spline nuts split or break. Especially if someone uses a gun on it.

Understood, does RTR also recommend 150 ft/lbs for lug nut torque? I would sure think that RTR has sold enough if there was any problems they should have surfaced by now... maybe call RTR and ask if any returns or replacements issued? Also, it's difficult with the photo angle, but is the Gorilla protruding beyond the wheel webbing? Also, did you try a 7/8" socket to see if there is adequate clearance to the wheel lug nut hole? If there is then these would also work for you in the upper right corner of this page.

The rtr are made in china. yea the gorilla stick put past the face of the wheel. didnt try a socket but the spline key fits without issue on both. Vehicle goes into dealer tomorrow to swap wheels and fix cross threaded studs, so i have to choose between these as i dont have time to order another set.

This is your choice, as this has potential to be a safety issue, we know what looks better. If one breaks during install then the choice becomes obvious. I'm sure Vaughn and Loren have put theirs thru the test.

Info on the RTR for future reference:

The Lug Nut are manufactured by Coyote. We recommend the factory torque spec with our wheels. The use of an impact gun is not recommended as these lug nuts have thinner walls as well as a thinner socket/key.
