LAS VEGAS, NEV., AUGUST 16, 2024 – The Ford Bronco DR is ready to shake things up in the desert, making its second competition appearance in the 2024 Best in the Desert series race Vegas to Reno. The one-day race will see off-road ace Brad Lovell splitting driving duties with Jason Hutter to take on one of the most challenging courses in the heart of Nevada’s iconic desert landscape.

“We’ve put in countless hours fine-tuning the Bronco DR this year,” said Brad Lovell, who took the vehicle to the podium in its competition debut in May. “We pushed it to the limit for multiple days and saw no downtime. Competing in Vegas to Reno is going to be a blast, and I can’t wait to see what the DR can do out there. I’m honored to be behind the wheel again, sharing driving with Jason.”

Vegas to Reno, organized by Best in the Desert, is the longest off-road race in the United States, spanning over 550 miles of Nevada’s toughest terrain in a single day. It is a true test of skill, endurance, and reliability for both driver and machine as they race from approximately 50 miles north of Las Vegas in Crystal, Nevada, to 50 miles south of Reno to the Dayton Rodeo Grounds.

In addition to Lovell and Hutter’s participation in Class 8000, Vaughn Gittin, Jr. and Loren Healy will be competing in Vegas to Reno’s mid-sized stock vehicle class with the same Bronco Raptor that finished first-in-class in the 2023 Baja 1000. Further demonstrating the versatility of the Bronco lineup, Bailey Cole and his striking yellow JEGS 4600 Ford Bronco will be on the course, fresh off class victories at Ultra 4 Series’ King of the Hammers and NorCal Stampede. John Williams, representing Ford Performance Racing School, and John Rants round out Bronco entries in the Ultra 4 4600 class, all competing for valuable points in the 2024 Ultra 4 Series championship.

Mark Rushbrook, Global Director, Ford Performance Motorsports, said, “The Bronco DR represents the ultimate expression of the Bronco spirit. Putting Bronco to the test right here in the American West, from the DR to Bronco Raptor to the 4600 class, is the perfect way to showcase its capabilities and learn more about how we can continue to fortify our Ford production vehicles. We’re confident the team will make us proud.”
