Yes, really, Ford will build and sell small numbers of these
Not content with showing off a bunch of modified versions of its lineup at SEMA, Ford has decided to introduce the most outrageous 2022 Ford Bronco you'll be able to buy: the Ford Bronco DR. The "DR" stands for "Desert Runner," which is exactly what the truck is built for. It's intended for the Baja 1000 with a V8 and Multimatic spool-valve shocks among other things, and you can have one.
Yes, unlike road-going Broncos, the DR gets the 5.0-liter Coyote V8. Exact output hasn't been announced yet, but Ford says it will make more than 400 horsepower, which seems more than doable. It's paired with the 10-speed automatic transmission and transfer case from the Ford F-150. At...
The 2021 Ford Bronco Sport made its debut at last year’s Rebelle Rally, a grueling off-road race open to women only that doesn’t allow any sort of modern navigation methods – only a compass, provided maps, and a roadbook. All three Bronco Sport teams finished the race and one took home the win in the X-Cross class, which is dedicated to unibody crossovers, an effort that the Bronco Sport team repeated this year. This year, it was joined by the 2021 Ford Bronco team of professional driver Shelby Hall and experienced navigator Penny Dale, who piloted their two-door Bronco to fourth place in the 4×4 Class.

The Motor1.com 2021 Star Awards included two of the most highly rated rugged vehicles from this year: the Ford Bronco and the Ram 1500 TRX. Both of these hotly anticipated off-roaders scored well in their initial testing, and they decided to round them up in one place to compete for the title of Best Adventure Vehicle. Looks like we will have to wait until the early part of 2022 to get more details on the Bronco Raptor. The new Bronco Raptor is going to be classified as a Special Edition and as you can see from the 2022 Bronco timeline that Ford release recently, the Special Editions won't be announced until sometime in Q1 of 2022. Hopefully, Ford will share a few more teasers of the new Bronco Raptor in the meantime.
Car and Driver's illustration of the 2023 Ford Bronco Raptor. They indicate it will have a "Ford" script on the grille much like the F-150 Raptor, a wider track with available 37-inch tires, Fox dampers from the Raptor truck, and it's expected to use a 450-hp twin-turbo V-6. They also mention the Bronco Raptor will be on sale by the end of next year as a 2023 model starting in the mid-$60,000 range.
We should have seen this one coming because we saw leaked CAD drawings back in June for the Bronco with this very grille. It looks like Ford wants to carry over a lot of the same Raptor design queues over to the new Bronco Raptor. Below are a couple of renderings from AutoEvolution to help us visualize what the Bronco Raptor will like sporting this new Raptor grille.
