Cargo Shelves...AAL or better?

Hi Everyone,

I know this has been discussed awhile ago, that is where I got some good information. Does anyone know of a good shelf or has installed one?

It seems the American Adventure Labs Ford Bronco MASS Adjustable Height Cargo Shelf is a strong contender.

Edit: JCR Cargo Basket is smaller but I like it. Also M2M flip up tray looks good.

It looks like I am considering the Purda Vida Traction board bracket and the Mountains 2 Metal fold up cargo bin.

This should give me some more space for overlanding.

Any suggestion or product reviews around this kind of storage stuff are welcome.

I’ve got the Pura Vida setup in my Raptor and in my daughter’s Wildtrak. I’ll get some pics and post them later today.

Here’s a pic of the Pura Vida setup. I don’t have much stored on it right now, but it’s a really good use of otherwise wasted space. From the driver’s seat, it’s not visible at all in the rear view mirror.

I like it thanks. I have on the way (Brandon shipped it the same day) the Pura Vida Traction board brackets only. I was going to order what you have and put my ARB tractions boards underneath. Which would have taken up some rear view. Since I have the Pro traction boards and not the GT, the Pro boards are tool long to fit under your the attic rack you have. I'm glad they are too long as it would have blocked the rear view some what. Since I am only getting the traction board brackets there should really be no view change or very minor. So my traction boards will be where your attic storage is.

Here's a pic with the roof off. They fit with the hard top on. Finally get them out from behind my rear seats. Need more room in the cargo area.

With the boards on top, you probably won’t see them at all. The Raptor cross brace will probably be the only thing you see.

I’ve got a set of Maxtrax long boards, but I’ve only packed them in the Bronco for one trip. Instead of using the Pura Vida mounts, I used a couple of Sea Sucker mounts and attached them to the top of my Diabolical Slipstream enclosure. My thinking was that if I deployed them and they were muddy or wet afterwards, I could just reattach them outside on the MIC top instead.

Yeah that makes sense. I was thinking I will be making the roof dirty putting them back. I told myself I won't care at the time as I will be happy to get un stuck. I just thought I should carry some plastic and wrap them and put them in the back seat until I can clean them before restoring.

I just realized I have a carry bag for my boards. I will stow the bag and if need be put them in there on the back seat or behind the seats where they are now until I can clean them and put them back on the brackets.

Yeah, I wouldn’t care too much about the dirt if they helped get me out of trouble. If you carry any bungees or ratchet straps, you can always strap them to the spare for the ride home or until you can get them cleaned up.

If I’m being honest, the only time I’ve ever used boards was to get my Exmark mower unstuck. That SOB will get stuck on dry ground in August!. I don’t really know if they’re great at getting a Bronco unstuck or whether they really should be considered “essential” recovery gear. I guess maybe it really depends on the terrain.

Either way, the Pura Vida brackets are a great way to carry them without affecting the already limited space in the cargo area.

Good idea on the strapping to the spare. Not too sure either. I know a guy once told me he's used the boards more than his winch. I just saw a small set of boards about half the size of regular board and they were strapped on top of the spare. I thought that seemed like a good idea.
