Hi Everyone,

Here's a post from another thread that explains how I got here - see below

"My wife will have mine here later today she's been driving across the country. I towed a trailer with the F250 so she has it. I am glad she is a good driver...ha..took me a few days to let it sink in she will have it for a month....It's my Raptor....It's my Raptor....soon to be again...

Can't wait. The first thing I am going to do is hit the dirt."

Well truck is in good shape except my wife put a cheap phone holder on the dash and it put an indented ring once removed. See picture. I did hit he dirt for a few minutes. Love the Raptor.

I was wondering if anyone had any ideas on how to get this out. I am hoping with perhaps time and the sun it may ease out. It's not the end of the world that is for sure. My wife said if you are throwing me under the bus make sure you tell them you are at least getting some muffins...ha. I could always cover it with a badge or something or just get used to it.

I am purchasing the Design67 small rail and phone holder in the near future.

Thanks

On a side note as soon as she got here I put my DV8 D Rings on. I was going to get Archetype but they are no more. I think they look good. They don't jump out at you. They seem small compared to some but I like them.

That ring will most likely work itself out. Someone had a set of AR shackles for sale on eBay last week. They were green, but black paint would cover the dark green well. I’d just mask off the exposed sections.

I'm thinking the same, see if the environment doesn't self heal the dash, hopefully it'll disappear on it's own.

I don't have any experience with D-rings, however I would expect DV8 to be some of the better options. The black is a nice subtle look on your Raptor, so... do they say "Sent it too Hard" on the bottom side like the Archetype Racing? Sucks AR closed shop, they produced some of the sweetest hardware/jewelry for our Raptors.

Thanks, good to know on both. I never go on Ebay for some reason. I will check it out.

I was just checking. I looked before but couldn't find them. I was told Archtype was open under a different name. I was also told of some background stuff which is a bit off if correct. Anyway here they are.

Awesome, appears some of the hardware is available.

Thanks, no they don't say that..haha. From all other options it seems DV8's are the best pick. I think they will do fine. Archtype has some Red and Orange in stock and they are not offering to make more. I will stick with these for now. I like them. Although Red may look pretty cool. Too much with the silver. If I blacked it out like others have the Red would look OK.

Buyer beware regarding AR. There are multiple lawsuits in play, and I wouldn’t trust any business with Curtis’ name involved. He was ultimately a scheister.
That confirms what I heard. Something about not paying suppliers and such. Good to know.

67 Designs has been my “go-to” for dash mount solutions. I use them to mount my cell phone, Midland microphone, iPad mini (for nav/mapping), and GoPro. Plus they are a reliable company with good market presence. Highly recommended.

I have used a bunch of different stuff over the past 3 years to clean the plastic interior and I recently purchased this and it works very well to clean our very finicky interiors

Ironmike,

I assume you have the large dash rail with all you put on it. I am considering the small rail but the larger one at least gives you room to grow. One review said the rail was flimsy. I don't see others say that. I was leaning to the small rail because of that.

If it was flimsy you would have said. I think the large rail seems the way to go.

Thanks Mike

Somebody on B6G said that was his original website prior to Archetype Racing. I bought a lot of stuff from them early on and didn't have any problems. However, I ordered a set of Magnum Stirrups in February for my wife's HEL and got screwed out of the money. I wouldn't suggest anyone send them money for anything, regardless of if they show the items to be in stock.

The AR products are really nice, but unfortunately I think that ship has sailed.

I don't know if it'd work for this and I'm not suggesting that you try it, but I wonder if covering that area with a small towel and running an iron on med-low heat over the top of it a few times might fix it. I've done that a couple of times on wooden panels and it actually worked pretty well.

Dash pads aren't cheap, though. Ask me how I know...:D

Thanks maybe I will give it a try. It's sitting in the sun now....

Yes, I have the large rail. Not flimsy at all…
