Hey All,

I'm a new owner of a 2024 Bronco Raptor and new member with a few questions if anyone could help. I want to upgrade to 38x13.50R20 Nitto Ridge Grappler tires with Vossen HF6-4 20x10 wheels with -18 off set. I am also planning to install the RPG 2.25 spring perch collars front and rear. Will I have any rubbing issues with this set up? In addition, will the spare tire carrier be able to support the bigger 38 inch tire and wheel? I appreciate feedback.

The biggest question is how are you going to use your Raptor? If it’s for street and light trails you shouldn’t be having any issues with rubbing given the generous lift and huge offset differential (you’re moving the wheel out 2 inches while adding 0.5” of tire to the inside). I’m guessing this is probably your use case since you’re speccing 20”s. On road, the tire carrier/tailgate will handle that especially without other tailgate weight added, like a table, air compressor, etc.

I’m running 38x13.5 with 2”/1” spring lift on +6 wheels. I’m off-road a LOT in desert and challenging trails. 38”s have been on for 5k miles. No issues with tailgate (…yet, ha ha) and I haven’t noticed any rubbing on street, desert whoops, or over the rock obstacles I’ve encountered since the change. Although I haven’t been jumping at the track like before or run the Rubicon on them yet. I think you’ll be just fine for reasonable off-roading use cases too.

The only thing I’d consider changing would be to reduce the negative offset on the rims to something like 0. IMO all that extra offset creates extra stress, creates more width issues (see video) and may make it more likely you’ll pop a flare or two off in spirited driving over ground separating terrain.

Hope that’s helpful in some way.

Welcome to Bronco Raptor.com! 🍻
I was hoping @JohnGalt would reply since he likely has more off road miles and experience with his Bronco Raptor than many of us and recently upgraded to 38's.

Lethal Performance is running those wheels but with 37's. I recommend calling Lethal for advice and a price on the wheels.

If you change your tire width and/or wheel offset you will need to update the spare bump stops.

Keep us posted on what you decide along with supporting photos, we like photos :giggle:
