What did you do to your Bronco Raptor today?

Once I determined who I was going to use to paint the fenders it was pretty painless. For me I already knew who that would be. Like many BR owners I have all the compulsive disorders in the alphabet, so I had arranged to have the shop come to my house and remove the fenders (he wanted the truck for the full week, Mon-Fri) as I didn't want the truck sitting in a nasty ass body shop all week. With just the fender liners (kinda flimsy) exposed I wasn't comfortable driving the truck, so I had it put on a roll back and taken back to the shop when the fenders were painted and were ready to be installed. I absolutely loved the finished product! Two things that need to be pointed out...1) Count on every plastic clip breaking when the fenders are removed, I would definitely pre-order the clips, you may salvage a couple but most will have to be replaced. 2) An experienced painter will know the importance of the "prep" work on the fenders prior to painting. Painter said it took over an hour to sand and prep each fender so that it matched the quarter panel. Charge me 2K.

It was mentioned by Ford Performance in their earlier video's that the inner fender liner needs removed first allowing access to unfasten the fender flares. There has been PPF installs where the fender flares along with inner fender liners are removed without breaking any clips.

That was an option........Funny you say that as I asked why the fender liners were separated from the flare. Painter said that any time you can eliminate having to "tape off" is a good time. Leaving the liners attached requires "taping off".
 
Just installed my Tuxmat floor mats. The Security Clips for the front and Ingenious.

Looks great, we are in Spring here but in Ohio that means lots of rain. Cant wait to take my Top off.

It was actually a little more challenging than I was expecting, particularly relative to a JLU. The thing being while the rear top is smaller than the JLU as it doesn't cover the 2nd row, it just pushes the balance back even further with that rear glass. I use 2 cam straps to lift it and the top just wants to lean backwards. The JLU top would stay relatively level because it had additional weight on the front section. Not a big deal but noticeable and makes me wonder how it will add to the job of getting it back on. I guess I'll find out next week when the expected rains hit Dallas again.

I also placed some towels over the rear roll bars to make sure the top didn't scratch it in the process. I was going to install the clear protection film that I purchased from Underground Graphics but 1) the Raptor bar in the rear kind of gets in the way and 2) don't really think I need it as there seems to be a greater gap between the top and bars on the Bronco than there was on the JLU.

I’ve been eying the weather this weekend in DFW. I was tempted to take the top off and seeing yours may have sealed the deal for me
