What did you do to your Bronco Raptor today?

Just finished the June '23 mountain tour. Sierra Madre, Snowy Range, Casper, Big Horn, Absaroka, Beartooth, Tetons, and Unita. About 2000 miles.

Everything is green and beautiful given the vast amount of snow last winter. Rivers, creeks and streams are running at full capacity. Many of the higher elevation lakes still have ice on them. Thankfully, the snow pack is melting slowly.
Sounds like an incredible trip!! I'm sure some great memories in your Bronco Raptor on this adventure was made...so happy you were able to enjoy and experience it!

That's the way to do it! It's so cool to hear these stories and know that the Bronco Raptor does it all with ease!

Just a simple 75 mile trip up north and back to visit Expedition One. I love my 🌶️ Raptor! 😍The twin turbos are like having instant power. Not like a Tesla, but boy howdy she goes when you step on it, even at 70 mph. I'm still getting used to the nose drive even with the sport suspension mode.

I had the front levelled for no other reason than cosmetic
No leveling needed on the 🌶️ Raptor. Self leveling after all modifications. Measured 19.75" to bottom of rock sliders, front and back. Boy Howdy, I added a lot of weight.

Ground Clearance (inches)
rear diff skid = 10.5
trailing arm forward bracket = 11.5
fuel tank skid = 12
exhaust pipe, post muffler = 12
T-case skid = 14
Transmission skid, K-brace = 13.5
Rock sliders, at body = 17; at outer edge = 19.75
Engine skid (aluminum), lowest = 13; majority = 14
Bash plate (aluminum) = 14

How are you liking the RCI 20 degree Rock Sliders?

looks like you opted for the tread plate. Does this really make it better for stepping up or does it tend to collect more mud, etc under it than it’s worth On the 20 degree?

im looking for a unicorn. frame mount sliders with step for my wife, while minimizing impact on break over angle and room for 38’s later without modifying the rails

i think I’m down to these or Metaltech. Any insight is appreciated

Awesome! I would not change a thing. A big recommendation for the RCI frame mount sliders. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

The installation was very easy. A slight speedbump with the pinch seam covers as noted here.

The 20° angle provides better ground clearance; 19.75" in the 🌶️ setup. The sliders are wide enough to protect the doors and provide a step, but not too wide to inhibit egress. Due to the height of the truck, I had to learn to step up with my left foot then slide into the rig.

The top plate is a must IMHO, unless you like mud/snow/spray all over the side of your rig. Between the OEM mud flap and the slider top plate, I have little to no build up on the doors. Spray and mud still catch on the rear flares. Maybe I'll post some pictures in the future; no mudding planned this week. You can look at any of the posted 🌶️photos or videos to see the breakover angle and clearance. As noted in another post, the forward trailing arm bracket is the low hanging fruit on the breakover angle.

I think the RCI sliders check all the boxes you noted and more.

Cool! Thanks for the very clear response! looks like you tucked all my boxes….literally.

I got some side video crawling up some ledges and totally agree with your assessment on the trailing arm bracket. that said, the angle and construction of the leading edge is pretty good. The passenger side skid is only tucked a little higher up, so there’s not a lot of extra room anyway.

did you sell the OEM rails and steps? I’ll probably sell mine to get rid of clutter in the garage, but not sure what to price them at. I’m guessing there will be a decent market for them from standard Bronco crowd.

Undecided; however, I can't see 🌶️ ever going back to stock.

Running boards are about $4,400 new (plus local tax), which I consider mine to be with only 32 miles on them. The BR design would fit any Bronco trim level. I would probably sell them for what I paid for the RCI sliders plus shipping. They are boxed and ready to go. ;)

Thanks for your thinking. The only way I see them going back on is to sell my truck, but I’m not seeing that happen for quite awhile at this point. No point cluttering up the garage for years either.

Given price new, the threads of wannabe Raptor enthusiasts and the fact that mine have been on the truck for 8000 miles (a fair amount of excursion on the undersides) I was pricing them around the price of the new sliders +shipping and see where that goes.

got the RCI sliders and seam covers with discount in my cart right now. Just taking a few to make sure vs. the Metaltech sliders. Did you consider those if they were available at the time you ordered?

Yes. Truth be told, I looked at over 10 different sliders in addition to keeping the OEM ones and removing the running boards. My deciding points (in priority) were design, quality, functionality, performance, cost. I almost went with a local weld shop in Cheyenne (because frame mounted was critical), but the cost factor was the tipping point. RCI was the biggest bang for the buck.

I wonder if anybody wants my OEM rear bumper? Part#: M2DZ17906BA
Probably not since all trim levels are the same; unless you've been in an accident. Anyway, it's available also.

I can't seem to get any traction selling a new ZROADZ Bronco hoop. SOLD

Ok, here's a strange deal . . . floating a balloon 🎈

A friend has two full sets (5 rims each) of Hutchinson Rock Monster beadlocker rims. New in box.
17x8.5, 6x135, +25 offset.
PN WA-1940-017-01 w/ BL-0107

Fits Bronco Raptor; does not fit regular Broncos or Bronco Sport.

My understanding is that these rims are no longer available at Hutchisnson. They are a 2-piece rim with a beadlock insert that locks both the inner and outer beads. They are reported to be 100% DOT approved for road use.

IM me if you're interested. I am not selling these, but I can put you in contact.

Boy Howdy, glad those Mabett side dome lights were on sale last week (20% off). Installed them today; interior lighting the way it should have been from the get go.

The new light covers the Easter egg above passenger front door.

OK, I'm done with the mods. :ROFLMAO::LOL:o_O Still can't decide if I'm going to paint the hardtop HPR.

I was toggling through the various gauge cluster options to get better acquainted with my Raptor. I could not figure out how to access Performance View to set the tachometer as the centerpiece of the screen.
In case no body replied to you.
  • Go to MyView using menu on right side of steering wheel
  • If Performance View is not part of your list, then select OK
  • Make sure Performance View is selected in list
  • Exit
  • Use up/down arrows to select Performance view0703231434a~2.jpg

Ok, soft mod. I'm annoyed by the pop-up "for your safety, some features have been disabled while driving".

FORscan
IS: Navigation in MotionAPIM7D0-03-0157xxxxxxxx--First Letter of Country Code (FLCC)
may disable 911 (not verified)
WAS: Navigation in MotionAPIM7D0-03-0155xxxxxxxx--North America

Now I'm dangerous. I can fool with the maps, email, Sirius browse, etc while driving.

Other soft mods:
  • Disabled Auto Start-Stop (made part of myRaptor mode)
  • Disabled door ajar
  • Disabled driver seatbelt mider
  • Disabled double horn honk when exiting running vehicle
  • Disabled triple ding at start up
  • Changed the start-up splash screen

Still looking for
  • disable the seat belt center screen pop-up; other than getting up to speed and having it go away by itself.
  • change the color of the Raptor on the startup screen. How about HPR?
  • enable parking brake when in Park
