What did you do to your Bronco Raptor today?

I used

I used a Reed instruments R8050... My friend is a sound engineer for home theaters. Its pretty accurate. I never had less then 86db before. I do notice that it seems louder from the top now that below the window line had the soundskins. Either way im hapy with the outcome.
any plans to do some type of that material on the top itself?

I was told that I shouldn't We are still trying to find something that would work correctly. Im going to come up with something. I fell its more about the air coming in through the seals. not the actual top.

Yeah, I got a little excited last October and went wild on Black Friday. I thought I jumped the gun for a while, but all's well that ends well. Interesting note: the $250 Ford credit (option code 58E; required to get built) turned out to be more than the actual cost of the amp and subwoofer upgrade. Easy/moderate DIY. Dealer wanted $1100 to do the upgrade. Hard pass!

. . . turns out it was pneumonia. :cautious:

I noticed this site doesn't have a personal "garage" where members can post photos and mods. Am I missing it somewhere?

Changed my Valve stem caps to match the black color scheme.
Added cargo and Interior LED replacements. Links to products listed below.

I did an oil and filter change after 1081 miles. Boy Howdy, it sure looked dirty. The factory oil only gave up ~6qts. After adding 7qts new and turning the engine over, the oil was not even showing up on the dip stick. Added another qt and now it's 75% between the min/max holes on dip stick. o_O Where did all that oil go?

DIY Subwoofer and Amplifier Upgrade

I finally had some time to write up this mod. It is definitely worth the effort for anyone who got caught up in the Option Code 58E, 2023 Subwoofer delete.

This option code will automatically be added to affected vehicles. Vehicles with this option will be produced with 6-speakers; however, they will be equipped with a non-functional amplifier that does not support subwoofer functionality. The vehicle will not retrofit (meaning Ford will not upgrade this in the future).

" This particular option deletes the subwoofer from models equipped with the standard sound system, which typically has seven speakers including the subwoofer. This option pertains to Base, Big Bend, Black Diamond, Outer Banks, Badlands, Wildtrak, Everglades, Raptor, and Heritage Edition series models. However, it seems as if this will apply to all non-B&O sound systems moving forward. "

The ‘Audio – Six (6) Speakers Subwoofer Delete” option will be listed in the Optional Equipment section of the Window Sticker and customers will receive a $250 MSRP credit on the vehicle invoice.

First, a big shout out to @FCoyote at Bronco6G for his informational links.

Second, these are the parts (or similar) you will need:
Background, why does the amp and speaker need to be replaced? Short answer: Ford inventory constraints. Dummy amp has no chips on circuit board. Dummy speaker has no magnet. It appears the dummy components are there only to connect the viable wiring.

Follow directions given by a host of others at Bronco6G, 2023MY Standard Audio (6-speaker) Subwoofer Delete Mandatory and Functional Amps Removed.

Note PN of new amplifier; same as dummy except the version is AB.

  • Turn on truck
  • Connect OBD2 reader
  • Start FORscan software and let data populate
  • Go to ACM module
  • Update 2nd HEX number at 727-01-01 node to activate subwoofer; from 14F1 to 16F1
  • Write new progamming to truck
1685663059100.png

Tweak sound as needed. Enjoy subwoofer.

Bonus: other things you can do with FORscan and your OBD2 reader.

I was toggling through the various gauge cluster options to get better acquainted with my Raptor. I could not figure out how to access Performance View to set the tachometer as the centerpiece of the screen.

Your build is probably as extensive, and practical as any I have seen on a Raptor in particular and Broncos in general. I attended the recent Bronco Safari in Moab. Previously I had run some Moab trails in a Badlands with no issues regarding width clearance. At the Safari, I nicked a wheel on a rock that could not be avoided due to clearance and had to do three-point turns on a couple trails for the same reason-the Raptor is a beast! Anyway, which trails are you going to do? And please, please take tons of photos. Good luck, and safe travels!

I've been on almost every moderate and difficult trail in Moab (sans Prichett). This maiden voyage is just to get familiar with the BRaptor. It's a short trip doing some old favorites, but the first order of business is to drive over the Gooney Bird's foot for good luck.
  • Fins N Things (4); half day
  • 7-mile Rim (4) with Wipeout Hill (5) finish; 3/4 day
  • 3D (4); half day
  • Porcupine Rim (5); 2/3 day
  • Hell's Revenge (6); half day
  • Top of the World (6); full day
  • Rose Garden Hill (7); 3/4 day with Onion Creek (3)
Future trip will be to link up Poison Spider, Where Eagles Dare, Golden Spike, and Gold Bar Rim.

How many owners have rotated their own tires? Or maybe just took the spare down and put it back up? 💪 At ~105 lbs each, these 37" shoes are no easy task. I'm going to have to start hitting the gym to get ready for the first 5000 mile mark.
