Same was said to me by my dealership as well as Ford Performance..If it was an aftermarket tune and not offered by Ford, possible different story...

Everyone lies at one time or another.I heard enough reports from both sides of the issue to raise concerns. EW plus tune represents a sizable investment, so I would press my dealer to put it in writing that there would be no conflict. Because dealers lie…
It’s almost impossible to screw up. If you have basic computer skills, like know how to plug a cable in to a computer and open an application, you can do this without issue. If there is no difference in the tune from the dealership or what you do to install it, I can’t see how ford has any argument over something happening due to the tune. It’s their tune, they know it’s safe enough since it’s very mild. Honestly I think they tested it with that much power, dialed it back for emissions, knowing they could also sell the tuner for extra $$$$.No...By having a certified tech or dealership install keeps your warranty in place.
It could void your warranty entirely if you install and screw it up.
Yes, as part of the process, you download your stock calibration and have the option to also upload to Ford servers in case the data, in a rare case, gets corrupted. You can always revert back to stock like most all other tuners.Just curious with this ProCal can you revert to stock settings ?
Thanks,
Chuck
Hi PK - did you ever get this installed in the NYC area? i put a call into my dealer and they said they didn't service ford performance parts/installation and directed me to Levittown. Curious if you got it in.will try to call Koeppel, let see how much they asking for
you are right no other dealer in the city will touch the installation except Biener Ford, I have them install it for me last month. Not cheap, I have it done with oil change and tire rotation with $700 tax included. I think upstate dealer maybe cheaper, I think someone say 450 something + tax, But lazy to drive + tolls and gas may ended up about the same.Hi PK - did you ever get this installed in the NYC area? i put a call into my dealer and they said they didn't service ford performance parts/installation and directed me to Levittown. they ask me do I want to mount on the windshield or not. I say No, so they just give me back the devices. They also created an account on ford performance for me and have the original mapping uploaded. I change the password after they are done. What do the dealers do with the display when you are done? Put it back in the box and give it to you? I just want to make sure that they don't mount it anywhere inside by default.
