I Put the bumper ends and factory fogs back on the bumper today in preparation. I removed the little air dam that was mounted on the bottom. I think it’s better looking without it, but I think you have to take the bumper ends all the way off to remove it (4 clips to remove a cover on the back which reveals three bolts to remove the dam). Mine were already off for last 6 months.

pro tip: when replacing your bumper ends, secure them by putting a couple of exterior bolts in by hand THEN IMMEDIATELY put the single smaller Bronco bolt that’s way up in the back on the top of the light assembly in the middle. This bolt is somewhat difficult to get started and can fall through a little opening in the light assembly. Then you have to remove all the bumper end bolts you put in, the bumper end and then the back cover on the assembly.

Dont ask me how I know this. I don’t want to talk about it

But wait, our little rubber OEM air dams (Kinards) provide extra frontal downforce to provide enhanced turn-in. If you don't care about being able to turn, at least they will provide extra MPG on your dirt off-road race course so you can skip the pit stops for fuel...

Ok, you guys piqued my curiosity about the amber lenses. Are they just cosmetic or are they more effective as a light source? And are there any legal issues with the color change? They seem to be a natural match for the Raptor’s stock amber front lighting.

For me, it’s primarily an aesthetic thing. I run amber covers on light bar and pods already. I can always pull them off if I want the full white light.

Theoretically the amber gives better visibility in fog/snow/dust. This should be some benefit in the mountains in the winter for me.

Legally, they can be an issue for the off-road lights. PuttiNg the amber cover on the OEM uncovered light would not be an issue. But….California vehicle code says, among other things inre to off-road lights (e.g. the light with the “raptor” cover on it, that “whenever the vehicle is operated or driven upon a highway, shall be covered or hooded with an opaque hood or cover, and turned off”. Amber covers would fail that test. Not sure about other states.

Hi Everyone, We had a great weekend of off roading with some friends on Drummond Island in Michigan this weekend. Great trails, a mecca for off roaders. Coming up Marble Head (a rock formation) I was going a bit quick and I smashed the trailing arm forward bracket and gave it a good dent. it...

Ok, well looks like I'm ordering some Rigid amber fog light covers now....thank fellas! I somehow missed this before but yeah I really like the look of them also. Dragoon thanks for having the part number for them, makes it so much easier for me anyway. Greatly appreciated.

Installed a 10 piece set of RockWorkx thumb screw fasteners today when I put the top back on. I had to order two sets but I now have my own "custom" set of orange/black fasteners. I'll also be ordering some of their new black with orange stitching cargo straps when Grant finally makes them available. Should be very soon!

These are super nice and you can tell they take pride in putting out a quality product.

Mine was still on its motor mounts. Unfortunately there was a puff of smoke and flames next to the fire wall. I called my sales man today to get my next one. This one saved my life.

Definitely saved your life. Your Extremely Lucky to have been able to get out. Your broken wrist is typical as very few have time or think to let go of the steering wheel just before impact.
Were the doors on before impact?
Did you need to open the door to get out?

Based on a head on collision, it's impressive that it appears the passenger compartment structural shape was not compromised. Your Raptor definitely had the acclaimed high strength steel.
Your wrist will heal and a new Bronco Raptor will be built. I'm so glad your ok, and will soon enjoy another New Bronco Raptor.
Almost afraid to ask, was the other driver as fortunate? Any passengers?
